Hi My name is Ali, I'm NEW here!! We are looking to add a Doberman to our family this year, and I am looking for a Reputable Breeder. Were located near Charlotte, NC and I don't mind a little of a drive to find one! I prefer to have a Dobe from a European Bloodline,as we want to be able to train her for personal protection! She will get lots of exercise running with me and just can't ever to be to safe! If you have any info please let me know!!

hands down i would go with von Moeller Hof dobermans here in charlotte, nc. they have a winter 2013 litter and these pups will be very high drive dogs with solid temperaments and will make excellent working prospects for schutzhund, obedience, agility, tracking, SAR, etc.

not sure what experience you have with working sports, but this is your best bet for a schutzhund prospect in the area. chris is active with the UDC and Working Dobermans of the Carolinas. she also does extensive health testing.

also, if you plan on exercising your pup by jogging/running, you will need to wait until he or she is about 2 years old. a pup's body and bones cannot handle forced exercise like running and can be detrimental to his or her structural development.

furthermore, you said you and your family. when communicating with breeders, be sure to inform them of any children in the household. some breeders have certain rules about placing pups in homes with children, especially with larger breeds. a rambunctious puppy and a wild-child toddler at home can be extremely difficult to manage and you may be looking at younger children getting knocked around by the pup and possible injuries.

I got to show Flint at the UDC show earlier this year. I never have shown a Doberman with ears and tail, it was a bit awkward, I wasn't sure what to do with his tail. I ended up showing him like a Coonhound LOL He is a really cool dog! Super smart, tons of drive, bone and substance and and a nice short back. I had him free stacking pretty well with about 10 minutes of training haha If I were in the market for a working dog, I would definetly consider this litter.
