I got a red, 4 month old (now 7 month old) girl from Foxfire Dobermans. I absolutely love her and I know others on the board have gotten them from her.
She's been incredible. M can be a bit hard to get ahold of, but she responds to email quite regularly. I was able to pick up J because there happened to be a show in town two weeks after we spoke. When we met up, I got to see some of her dogs that she was showing, in addition to meeting the happy, playful puppy that's now chewing on a femur behind me. I didn't remember to bring a leash, so M let me borrow one - I brought it back to her the next morning (she said I could keep it, but I didn't want to do that in good conscience).
My girl developed an infection (hookworms) about a week after coming home, and M was EXTREMELY supportive and helpful and reminded me to deworm once a month and asked what I was giving her for worms. In addition, she helped me immensely on advice for posting J's ears (she had just reposted J the day I picked her up), and we still exchange emails fairly regularly on updates on the dog etc. Plus, Jaina (the dog) came home VERY well socialized - she's absolutely NOT afraid of anything. For pics, I've got her thread here: Introducing Miss Jaina Dogmoore!
In other words, I have had no issues with maintaining contact with her following the purchase, and she was extremely professional and helpful before/after the purchase. The dog will come home with its ears cropped (typically in a longer show crop, like what you want), docked, and with dew claws removed. She will also give you paperwork with their pedigree, their AKC registration (I did a limited registration, because I don't intend to breed my girl), and their shot record (with advice on when to get the next series of shots). She worms regularly, and Jaina sprung back from the stress of moving within a few days (my posts about her pacing and whining were my own paranoia - so disregard any worry I might've had there. She was bored, as it turns out.)
