| | denormalized | Besides that, what makes your bitch so great that she should be bred - how will she IMPROVE the breed and what is her genetic state of health - what genes will she pass onto offspring? Do you know what the health problems with dobermans are and have you got a dog that is guaranteed not to ever have those problems? Good show dog? Great obedience dog? Excels in performance sports?
No? then please reconsider what you are contemplating.

| | Alpha | Best advice: please dont breed your dog. If you are on the internet asking for advice on this, you probably have a lot to learn before you even THINK about breeding. Spay your girl and enjoy her company |

Actually, everybody who has posted in your thread are non-breeders. That being said, breeding your girl would make you a breeder, even if it was just a "one time thing."
The thing about the people on this thread (and on the site as a whole) is that we love the breed and only support ethical breeding. That would be, simply put, the breeding of fully health tested and titled dogs. It's about breeding to improve the breed, using proven dogs, and not just for puppies.

| Oh, please don't breed just to make puppies... Please please please! There are thousands of puppies waiting in shelters because of situations like these! |

I am actually involved in the rescue end of the of all the "one time breeders" out there, and there are just so many. Its like a monsoon of "my dog is so nice" / "my dog is so pretty" / "just want her to have puppies" dogs in rescue.
check out petfinder in your area, and see how many nice, pretty, sweet dobermans desperately need a home. Lets say you have a litter of 10. Do you have 10 good homes lined up? Of those 10, maybe 5 are females. Then in a year you could be responsible for 50ish new dobermans (im not even addressing the males). See how that "one time" thing snowballs? |

Have your bitch evaluated for conformation, have all her health tests done (Cardio, Hips, Eyes, vWD...) and then maybe get a title on her in some venue.
I wouldn't just breed to breed. Too many problems could come up to make it worth it. |

| Soliciting breeding is against forum rules. You've gotten lots of good advice as to why you should not breed your female. Stick around and do some reading on DT - you'll learn a lot!
