Hello everyone, does anyone have any experience in dealing with Empire State Dobermans. Specifically the quality of thier dogs, IE... health and temperment, as well as them as a breeder.

I have no experience with them but their site gives very little information. It seems as if this is a family who does nothing but breed their two pet dogs. At first glance, this is not a reputable breeder and, therefore, not a breeder that I would get a dog from.

Edit: Using the registration numbers that were provided on the website I tried to look up the dogs on the OFA site to see what health testing, if any, has been done. I found nothing/

Well, neither Deisel nor Kaiah has any AKC titles. Kaiah just turned 2 years old on 9-19-12, which means that she was too young to have had her hips evaluated by the OFA before she was bred. Speaking of OFA, they don't mention any health testing for either dog on their website, which would lead me to believe that they haven't done any. I wouldn't buy from them.

They do have a facebook page I added because I live fairly close and kind of just for fun. They recently had a litter, and they had their ears cropped, tails and dewclaws done. The site does not give very much information. I messaged them on facebook out of curiosity about their health testing, blood lines, etc. They seemed polite and told me everything was on their site, and when I checked it did have AKC#s on the sire and dam but I had a lot of trouble searching the numbers- actually i couldn't find them. Their dogs don't appear to have any titles, and the website shows a picture of their male's mother. A lot of pictures but no descriptions. I'm sure they are very nice people but quality could be questionable.

If called or spoken to in person I am sure they may be able to give more information and answer questions more thoroughly. Otherwise, as far as my message to them, they seemed to have no idea of health testing and such.

is it weird that i had the feeling this was a byb solely based on their 'kennel' name before going to their website? i guess it's getting easier to spot these days.

these folks have pet quality dobermans (which should be fixed) and not be bred together. there are no titles, no health testing, the conformation is poor, and those ears...what happened there?

i would stay far away from this greeder and not support them with the purchase of a puppy. i've seen dogs in our local shelter that look better than this.

i laughed out loud while reading this statement from their website...

"We breed Dobermans not only because we truly love the breed but also because we want to perfect their health, temperament, and beauty. We breed family dogs that are show quality. We do not breed for any aggressive or territorial behaviors."

This is clearly misleading and a false statement. They are far from living up to that statement.
