| | Lil Dog | if you don't want to import, i'd highly recommend von Moeller Hof dobermans here in NC. since you both are on the east coast, it would be a 1-2 day roundtrip, but that would be your best bet for an undocked, uncropped pup (which typically will only come from working lines/working breeders). you would have to ask right away to have one left natural i would bet.
if you are willing to import, i'd go with Betelges. maksa is very active in showing, working and health testing, and his bitch Freya is a great looking natural doberman. i believe most of his dogs and bitches are docked and cropped, but he would be willing to leave one natural. you would probably have to request it prior to a litter being born, or within a few weeks of birth since they typically get their ears and tails done before leaving for their new homes. |

Have heard multiple multiple stories of DCM with the Betelges.
Not 100% positive if it is true, but I saw a picture of the echo report and matching pedigree for a 6 month old import from the Betelges kennel with DCM. Yes, 6 months old. Terrible. There is much better in Europe if you have to go the import route, but there are enough good breeders in the US that if you are prepared ahead of time, you won't have to worry about all of that. |

I hope to hell you aren't talking about Bill Whited, of Whited K9, in OH.

Not getting on you personally, just using your post as a springboard.
I understand the impulse to be helpful, chatty, and friendly when new folks come on the board, but I personally just feel safer pointing them to links on what to look for in a breeding or breeder, what questions to ask, and how to do their due diligence.

| OMG please don't go to Bill Whited of Whited K-9 Services in Kent, Ohio, I speak from
personal experience, DON'T DO IT! Thank goodness Ohio has passed Senate Bill 130, maybe, just maybe, it will help control people like him. |

| No I don't even know who that is. Michael Durant. His email address is on Simons (Del Nasi) website as US contact.
My Betelges female came from health tested parents (DCM, VWd, hips, etc). There are things that can be said about any kennel and breeder I'm sure, more so when they breed more often. And the Euro showlines are so heavily linebred which doesn't help I'm sure. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Skila's pedigree: Askila is Cut'n a Path von der Krieghunde - working-dog.eu
She can tell you what male she's planning on, b/c I don't have it here.
Her email is mustluvdobes@yahoo.com, or website is www.cutnapathdobermans.com, but it's light on info. Talk to her in your search. |

The owner (Chris) and I have been going forth on email quite a lot and I like her a lot. May fly down to visit in the next month or so. Thank you for your additional nomination.
Sorry to hear about possible DCM in the Betelges line (subsequent post).
Can anyone track this down? It would be a nasty rumor to start if not true and good to know if it is. |
