1/2 AKC Doberman/Standard Poodle Mix

Take a look at this link. I almost died laughing. I love how they made sure to say "AKC" Doberman.

I don't condone designer breeds but I would give it a home in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a male dog.

It is a cute puppy and I really love both breeds (standards), but I shutter to think that somebody did that on purpose. At least it is an adoption fee and not a huge price tag.

I'd guess that based on the adoption fee it wasn't a deliberate cross. Designer mutts are usually much higher. It looks to me like someone owned both breeds and never fixed either or a neighbor dog? If they don't actually own both the dobe part may be their best guess out of what lives close based on coat color.

Then again if they have the female they may be guessing as to dad based on coat.

No even with dragging the pedigree image into the url bar it gets no larger in size and I can not read it at all.

I copied pasted and zoomed out and in. No luck, the only readable is the Certified pedigree heading, I truly think it is not readable, just ink blurs in a pattern, or they totally distorted it and then pasted it up, so no one could decipher it.

Well at quick glance that looked like a breeders mistake. I guess maybe she breeds both breeds and left a bitch in heat too close to a male..Oops..well i am wondering what the 100 bucks is for? You shouldnt have to pay for that, donating to a local shelter or rescue is always a great thing to do and much needed but it shouldnt go directly to this breeder. Funny thing is, I bet thats one hell of a smart dog..two very intelligent breeds.

I don't think it is any mistake. Can't figure why they are selling this "DOODLEMAN" for only $100.00. Excuse me while I go get sick.

I started to post their link and then thought better of it. I don't want to make it any easier for them to advertise.

I removed their kennel name. Here ya go...

Working in a grooming salon, I see these "designer" dogs come in all the time with their proud owners who paid nearly $1000 or more for them. I just smile at them and agree with whatever they are saying. The other day a lady came in with a "goldendoodle" or something but as she quickly corrected me it was no ordinary goldendoodle, it was an "AUSTRALIAN goldendoodle". What is this world coming too?? Designer breeds???

I have said it before and I will say it again - I hate "designer dogs."

However, if this boy needed a home and I had the right situation I'd gladly take him in. It's not his fault that he was bred, and he's a sweet looking thing. I like dobes and standards, and they're both smart as whips!

Hope he goes to someone who will love him forever, and won't just make him their trophy dog.

I saw a pup listed at $3000!

Took a look at the "breeders for sale" page... they had two pups on there advertised as breeders who had been born in 2007... isn't that kind of putting themselves at risk if the pup is bought for breeding and doesn't develop into one? I know all of my kits are sold as "potential breeders" and there is a clause in my contract stating that any animal bought from me as a breeder prior to full maturity and assessment is done so at the buyer's risk...

IMHO, labradoodles/goldendoodles = flippin' ugly.

There is a difference between the Australian Labradoodles and the ones you see running around. I can understand why she would boast about it. Not that I condone "designer" breeds. But, the Australian Labradoodles have been bred for a specific purpose since the 80's I believe and have a data base tracing them with research to back up the lineage. The prices are enough to make you fall over. It is the BYB's that are trying to make a huge buck off of something that they were attempting to make helpful for service work that ruined it. You can't keep the greed out.

This is one of the main research/kennels that head it:

With a "certified pedigree" to boot!! Maybe they are thinking they are placing a new "designer" dog.?? Whatever, I sure hope someone takes the little guy! He didn't ask to be a mixed breed!

Let's not forget that the Doberman began as a "mixed breed" -

I've often wondered... all breeds resulted as a desire for a certain type of dog - protection, guarding, hunting etc. Whatever happened to the plain ol dogs from which they descended?

How is it possible that those dogs no longer exist? Or maybe they do.. only we call them mixed breed dogs. I've seen "mixed breeds" that really did look very generic - couldn't begin to guess what "purebred" dogs might be in their background.

Being a mixed breed dog should not be a stigma - when I was growing up, most folks just had "dogs" - not an AKC registered anything. Sure, we saw a few poodles or chihuahas, the occasional German Shepherd. Mostly, folks had
"mutts" - and they were good dogs too.

I don't think anyone here has anything against the dog that is mixed. What they (well, me included) are against is the indiscriminate breeding of dogs for no other purpose than to produce puppies for monetary gain. And also against allowing dogs to breed with each other just because they're too lazy or too cheap or too proud to get their animals fixed. This does nothing but add to the already overcrowded shelters and rescues and causes the death of thousands of animals every day.

Every dog deserves a happy home, regardless of where it came from. But not every person should be having puppies just 'cause they want to.

Don't think the pedigree means a whole lot now that the breedlines have been crossed.

I guess you'd call it a "doberdoodle"? or a "poodleman"???

He is a cutie tho, I'll give them that....

Don't like to stereotype breeds, but the two or three Labradoobles at the local DP are rather high strung. Totally dumbed-down the standard poodle in the mix. Absolute shame, given how sharp the breed is. Also very submissive, two of them immediately expose their bellies when approached by other dogs, which, naturally doesn't create ANY problems with a few of the more aggressive males...
