Thunder Valley Dobermans

YES! This kennel (Bonnie Brochtrup) is the most conscientious dobie breeder I've ever met! I purchased a dobie from Thunder Valley 3 yrs. ago, and I'll be picking up another brand new puppy there at the end of May! This is a fabulous kennel, clean, and odor-free. The pups are born indoors and raised in the kitchen, right under Bonnie's feet! They are raised right along w/ her kids so they are well handled and very stable. Mom and dad are always on site and she never over breeds the adults. In fact, she limits the females to 4 litters. The communication never ends! I get several emails weekly and updated pics as well documenting the progress of my pup (she very carefully tries to match a potential owner to the personality of the pup they're looking for). After bringing my first pup home, she phoned me several times to check how things were going, and continued to email me from time to time. I always felt that I could contact her if any problem (large or small) arose. In short, you'll feel like you made a friend. I don't think you'll be sorry....

Ya, that was a little surprising to me. I "limit" my bitches to one or two litters. It's like some people think their bitches owe them something.

Hey guys thanks for responding. This inquiry was in regards to a postabout a dog named Prinz who was less than 2 years old and already on his third home. Showing aggression issues, has bitten a couple people and attacked a couple of other dogs. Now he is evidently being pushed off on another home. Based on info provided from the breeder, Thunder Valley, she is going to start showing after 28 years of breeding and importing.

No you don't! lol You need to do a bit more research, even the good *real* euro females do NOT look like that. She has a very masculine body, it looks almost painful for her to sit. Poor angles...

Blech.

I wouldn't personally touch that pedigree with a barge pole.

4 litters you would have from a female that would worth breeding. Even 1 or 2 would be a crime for some other bitches. I dont know the breeder to be honest. Never heard of it. But i hear people bashing on how painful it would be to sit because why? To muscular??????? LOL. The bitch is not even set up properly for a show picture.

I would really understand bashing a pet farm owner. Even if it would be illegal to do so, i would support it. What makes me an impression is that nobody asks why something like that would happen. Can anyone say if the owner didnt know how to raise a dog? 90% is genetics and this is the biggest mistake breeders do when they place pups out of (i wont say work) Euro lines

Ok no need to be rude. I am just saying I like the look! get off your high horse. I am doing my research. I was just saying she looks pretty! The way she is posted on the website makes her look good, she probably doesn't look that good.

You don't know what kind of Doberman I want. I am still in the process of researching. Don't get all crazy on me and being rude.

While I hate to speak for someone else...I don't think Cassandra was trying to be rude, nor did I find her post crazy. Plus I don't think she even owns a horse. lol. And I could be totally off, but I believe what she was trying to say is while you may like the looks of this dog, just do your research and find a reputable breeder who breeds dogs to the standard and produces dogs with the looks that appeal to you.

Just my two cents...

Yes, I know it's an expression...and my comment was a joke, because she wasn't on her high horse. Sorry you didn't get it...

Easy there JessieLove09, They are actually trying to teach you a little something about Dobermans.

She is far from the "Worst" European lines bitch that I have ever seen, but she does have some faults that you might not want in your agility dog.

She does look a little straight to me, and she is WAY to heavy.

Look at the wrinkles over her neck and shoulders, not the best front assembly that I have ever seen. With her weight you would put a lot of stress on that with the training and jumping you would be doing in serious agility training.

I realize the breeder you are interested should be excellent at matching your to a dog (In my experience) but there are still things to look at in your research. I only mention this because what you like in the looks of that dog might not match with your stated goals with the dog.

The dog is overweight for the picture so it looks bigger. A lot of people do this. Back agilation is very straight although the whole concept would be better if the dog was pulling. Head is not perfect 100% but good and strong, more powerful than most of the males in NA . She doesn't have a lot of bone i would say it is her second vice. So back agilation and and bones. Agilation is easier to make with a correct male, but not bones because it would take a beast. But if you are after a female you will be fine

You don't know what kind of Doberman I want. I am still in the process of researching. Don't get all crazy on me and being rude.
It was not my intention to be rude. I only meant to point out that there are more things to consider about the Dobermann than "Ooh, I like that dog's face.".

If anyone has been rude and made completely unnecessary posts and comments here it has been you. An admission that you know nothing of the breed, yet less than a week on this forum and you are making such crazy assumptions as to who can or cannot own a dobermann, who would be a responsible turtle owner, you claim you will not pay more than $1500 for a dog from a breeder, etc etc. You say you want an Aldercrest puppy, not going to happen for less than $1500.

Over and over again you have proven yourself less than knowledgeable about the breed. I used to be in your shoes. I used to jump on everyone for everything I thought was "wrong".

You are still new to this forum and the breed. Tone down your attitude a bit and show a little more respect towards the long-standing and newer members of this community. Learn more about the breed, offer advice when you know you can make a positive contribution to a topic. You'll attract more flies with honey...except with those dern BYB's and puppymills.

I think you are being rude here.^^And I am against BYBs and Puppy mills. and I never said I was going to buy a dog from Adlercrest, I was just asking about them and liked the look of their dogs and wanted to know if anyone bought from them or worked with them. Nothing is set in stone, I may change my mind on the price I am willing to pay for a dog, because I am not buying a dog right now. I may not know that much about the breed, but to say I know nothing about them is not necessary.

I could only find testing on hips and vWD. Not sure if they perform health testing on breeding pair??
