Very few lawyers make 6 figures a year, it's a major misconception that they all make big money! Besides...I spend all my money on my dog and cats anyway.....rofl |

| our first experience in the dobie world was with a BYB. We put a $500 deposit on a puppy. However, we knew it was non-refundable. We backed out of the puppy as we learned more about BYB'ism and other things. Because we were not comfortable with the decision, the BYB at least had the decency to give us half our money back. Your situation is different - it sounds like you didn't know the deposit was non-refundable and there was a communication breakdown. This breeder should at least meet you halfway and give you half back. |

| Hey NovaScotia--it occurred to me, just in case no one else has said it yet, to stress to you, that, whatever you decide, you are welcome here for support, guidance, and picture-sharing, no matter what, okay?
So, even though folks are not happy about the way this "breeder" has dealt with you and your boyfriend, if you do end up with a puppy from him, (most, I hope) folks will NOT blame you or the pup and will help you out and love to see pics of the pup, just sayin!

| Well Mr Von Ryan Luxus certainly has lived up to his aforementioned reputation.
His actions concerning the lack of communication between him and his puppy purchasers only shows what the future holds for them if a problem arises with their puppy.
They are welcome to come here for advise and support.
IMO this is a sad situation of another novice puppy purchaser falling into the wrong hands.
I have never heard of a REPUTABLE doberman breeder requiring a deposit on a puppy and then keeping the deposit if the purchaser changed their mind or something came up that prevented them from following thru.
I have heard of this happening just about every time someone deals with a NONREPUTABLE breeder. |

| | Alpha | I have to agree our puppys are our family members and its a little more then insane to think we wouldnt want pictures of our babies. what a cop out. when your holding on to sombodys 500 dollar deposit i would recommend maybe calling the future owners and letting them know you will be out of town for awhile.
