There is definitely a lack of communication from these guys and I am new to this and I have not purchased a dog out of provience before so of course I had alot of questions for them and my mistake which I regret now is sending the money before I had all the info I needed, but jeeze I never thought I have a problem like this. I don't want to start trouble and I was confused so thats why I wrote on this site because I appreciate all of your input. mulrooneyryan mentioned about his friend getting a pup and it was 9-1o wks old, well I was told this litter was born May 25 so they would be roughly 4 weeks but when I finally got a voice mail from them it said they were 6wks old? so that confused me and I tried contacted him yet again but no answer. I understand people have their own lives and can get busy but I feel ignored.

get your money back and find a better breeder. they probably have all three puppy ages, 9-10 weeks, 6 weeks AND 4 weeks. With the amount of litters that they produce, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience, in trying to become a new Dobe owner.

I believe you've been guilty of being a bit too trusting and gullible--but this breeder is guilty of far worse.

As far as their "champion" "thrilling" bloodlines, I see a couple Seigers from 15 to twenty years ago, and zero titles since. Not sure from the website if those were even their dogs.

Anyway, I would say, beware of slick looking websites, glamorizing things with Vipers and Hummers and people with bad 80's hairdos.

Use this forum to find you a reputable breeder who cares more about how the dogs look, perform, and their health--and will actually answer a buyer's questions and concerns.

And yeah--I'd fight to get that money back.

so they cashed your $500 check - what do are you getting for that money? if nothing, that constitutes fraud and theft.. there are laws in Canada and authorities - use them.

Von Ryan is borderline puppy mill.
His dogs are pretty.
Some have AWFUL temperments
I know of two personally, both have good temoerments, one is being bred at 18month a "deal" with the breeder so that they get some of their $2100 purchase price back.
A second one i know is 8 years old.
She was bought by someone for $1300 and then ended up in rescue, well breeder never came to claim the dog. She was born without an ear drum and still they slapped a $1300 sticker on her.
He is a crappy breeder and has puppies all the time. Sorry if this has been posted already, a little late to the thread

They have done breedings to z factors but no they arent z factored.
I beleive I heard a story that someone bought a puppy from him and then they could never get ahold of him after the fact either...but i could be thinking out loud.

irregardless of who the breeder is, IMHO I think that $500 deposit is an outragous amount of money. I don't want to sell a puppy to someone who feels that they have to take it or they will lose their deposit - my main concern is for the puppy.
