I know of someone who wants to place an 18-month-old female from good breeding (health tested, titled parents). She is black though. E-mail me privately if your friend is interested.

Suzuki I can understand them wanting an adult dog from a breeder however to imply that there is anything wrong with the temperment of rescued dogs is uninformed. All the dogs I have rescued have been of sound temperment. There are plenty of rescues that are of sound temperment that find their way to a rescue because the owners just didn't put in enough time to exercise them. I know people want what people want but if your friends are looking soley for a companion there is no reason not to go through a rescue. I'm honest opnion it is selfish not to open your home to a loving and deserving dog.

I couldn't agree more with 2rescuedDobies. Well bred or not, dobermans are going to have health issues... so why not give a home to a doberman who could really use it? A lot of times rescued dogs are in excellent health and have had a small amount of obedience training. Not saying they are perfect, they do come with problems, but IMO that's just something that makes rescuing and rehabilitating that much more rewarding. Rescued dogs are assessed and basically temperament tested before they are offered for adoption, the few that can not be adopted out are unfortunately pts. The last thing a rescue wants is a liability issue...
