| More about 'blah-blah'...
Statement:
"Our Mission: Here at Britton Farms Dobermans we strive to improve the Doberman breed with every mating we make."
Facts:
"Now Taking deposits on this Superior Sized Litter!!! This mating should produce dobermans ranging from 110lbs. -135lbs.28" -33" Tall"
Correct me if I am wrong, but how can a mating that produces SUCH dogs IMPROVE the breed whose standard weight- and height-wise is MUCH different...
Or is the breeder creating his OWN standard??? Or rather just breeds whatever can be bred...

| My inexperienced eye sees a lot of Dane in these dogs. Especially around the mouth area. |

To each his own. I wouldn't feel comfortable saying much from a photo of a dog. It's nice to see them in person :-)

-JB. | This is exactly what I am seeing in a few of the pictures. In order to make them fit, they had the dimensions change (wich stretches the image) instead of actually cropping - HUGE mistake in this context. If you look at the backgrounds on 3 of the 4 2nd group of wider pictures you can see everything is squashed. Also, the first tall picture, you can see that the dogs face and neck is elongated and all out of proportion (looks more like a Great Dane). They are misrepresenting their dogs and probably dont even realize it. Makes it hard , if not impossible, to make out the true proportion of the dog
A few down the page are the same way.

| | Big Pup | A few of you have hit on the problem. I'm not a doberman expert, but I AM in graphic design, and I can tell you that those photos have been distorted. Whoever made the website stretched them rather than cropping to the correct dimensions. The dogs still may not be perfect, but those photos are definitely hacked up.
*edit* sorry avalonandon, I didn't read all the way through the thread before I posted. I see you beat me to an explanation. |

But what does everyone think of the dogs?
Most of them look really long backed to me.
Anything else worrysome other than the obvious? King Doberman Kennels - Home | Very UN impressive! Its sad to see such un educated people doing this to a wonderful breed.... I always say Money is the root of all evil.... There are far too many so called "breeders" like this.......... They can Snow a Snowman! |
