How sad....

A little visit to the BigK website today advertises Doberman puppies available, from litters whelped on the following dates:

April 7 - 1 puppy
April 13 - 1 puppy
April 19 - 4 puppies
April 21 - 1 puppy + 1 "breeder puppy"
April 30 - 4 puppies
May 1 - 2 puppies
May 2 - 5 puppies

So... this means that in 26 DAYS, Kimbertal (through their breeder program or whatever it's called), whelped SEVEN litters of Doberman puppies. SEVEN litters in 26 DAYS, people.

They're averaging a litter every 3-4 days. BOOOOOOO!

7 litters in 26 days is more than excessive that's commercial imho. Those of us that know better have more discerning taste that to buy commercial. What happens to all the high drive dogs that are inappropriately placed....they go into rescue UGH. I agree w/ Megs STOP OVERBREEDING! Obviously it's not about the dog it's about the bottom line $$$$$$$.

Expanding on the 7 litters in 26 days thing...

Interesting that 7 goes into 26, 3.7 times (averaging a litter every 3.7 days). With 365 days in a year, a litter every 3.7 days gives 98.6 litters year. That's EEEERILY close to 100. Maybe it's completely coincidental, but 100 litters a year seems like a nice round Commercial kennel business plan kind of number to me...

Thanks for all that info Megs. There is no denying that kimbertal is causing a pain in my brain and in my heart. Not sure what I am going to do about it yet. But i am going to put a lot of thought into it.

Let us know what you come up with,the problems lies in that as per the laws, they are not doing anything wrong.... animal activists are between a rock and a hard place and yes i consider anyone who helps with animals animal activists(not talking about PETA here).
Good luck, there has to be something everyone can do, maybe post ads on kijiji in USA about them? nextday pets, etc?
