I dunno everyone seems to be jumping on the "euro bandwagon"
I have been doing some research for a pedigree that is heavily euro, and i havent seen much of a difference.

so that means Sant Kreal was the highest rated brown male for conformation?? (not real clear on European titles...)
It means he won his class and was "V" rated. If you look at the entire list of results, you will see the "Sieger" and "Jugendsieger" listed for both black and brown males. Sieger is Champion and Jugendsieger is junior champion. Classes are divided by age and titles. Tsenturion is entered in open, just like our AKC open class. Patrick is entered in intermediate, just like our AKC 12-18 although I believe the actual age division is 12-15 months. All of the class winners can compete for Sieger, just like our AKC winners dog, except instead of points, you are awarded the title of Champion and they have a junior champion.
Neither Patrick nor Tsenturion were chosen as siegers or champions, they just won their classes. A great accomplishment, but not what Kimbertal is advertising on their website for these dogs and that is what makes it an outright lie.

Basically he is a class winner... but lost to the other class winners competing for the championship.

Soccermom is on a distinguished road
Second Day Here

Okay.
This is only my second day and it may be a big mistake but MY Faline was a Kimbertal breeder. I did not read the whole thread because OMG!
It was years ago when I had Faline going to Kimbertal for ear taping. I remember Cathy Albertson a rottweiler breeder from NJ who created a big stink because she told the Colonial rottweiler club that she bred to Kimbertal's studs because Kimbertal was more honest and they returned her phone calls. I think their was a big editorial on the club members helping novices more. I remember the discussion in the office at Kimbertal that day. She had bought a female by the number 1 stud at the time Bubba, who had etropian(the female, not Bubba) and the breeder had told her that it was fixable so she would not replace the female. I know the breeder was close to Kimbertal because Cathy was coming from there and the local paper had an article on Bubba in it about that time. Cathy had the Colonial newsletter in her hand. She gave me her card which I still have in my box of business cards. I keep stupid things!
Faline was a sweet fawn doberman with a good soft coat(I heard fawns can be coarse). Way back then it was two litters back but they paid you something after each litter. I hear it is one litter now.
Well, on her first litter she got big but on her due date looked wrong. I can't explain it but I knew something was wrong. I called Kimbertal and went through the son( I did not get along with him and I hear it is better now that he is not there) to the owner, Bob. Bob listened to me and said if it would make me feel better take her to Ludwig's Corner Vet for a check up at their expense. I went as soon as I could get an appointment.
The x-ray showed one very large dead puppy. The resulting c-section was not going well as there was an infection. I heard them call Kimbertal and Kimbertal was asked if they wanted Faline to be put down or spayed. The spaying would be a fair price as tissue was dead. The owner had them ask me for a decison and if I would keep the dog were she spayed and I said of course. The spaying was not an easy surgery as everything was enlarged and a lot of fluid spilled from somewhere. It took a long time, or at least it seemed like hours and I was crying. They kept her overnight after letting me spend some time with her. Doctor Hoffman was my vet after that as he saved Faline. She actually bounced back very quickly.
Kimbertal paid for everything and sent me Faline's papers. She lived many years after that although she leaked a little urine from being spayed.
I stopped reading the posts where everyone was ranting about profit being their only motive. I have seen them sympathize with many customers and Bob, Sr. gave my girlfriend her money back in full when her dog had a problem at age three. Again, the son was not like that but the owner is. I am sure not everyone is happy but I just thought I would let you know that they do care about the dogs and that they spent $1000 on a dog that was not going to give then any return.
I live near them and everyone either loves them or hates them. I may stop over today to see the dogs that the controversy is about. No matter what you say here they always welcome me and I never spent a cent there. They do talk to you and take time to visit no matter what. Years ago no show breeder would do that. Hopefully some on the forum will even though I am not in the position to get a doberman.

In all fairness, I can pick more then a dozen posts with rather snide comments going one way or another.

Let's all just stick to the questions at hand.

Anne, I've asked several times, and have no intention of ignoring you or twisting your words, since you said you haven't answered many questions for those reasons.... I know there have been so many posts on here, so perhaps this got lost in the quagmire...

Doberman in rescue that Velma provided the tattoo number for a few times...

Also a new one...

Will Kimbertal consider donating a portion of it's profits to local rescues that are repeatedly getting Kimbertal dobermans and rotts surrendered to them/picking them out of kill shelters? To me sounds like a good business plan to take some responsibility and to take a little of the burden off of the rescues that are covering the bills for dogs that your employer bred. That way you can avoid the so-called insurance issues you claim to have with taking your dogs back and taking responsibility for them, but at least you are providing in some way for them.

Well... they (Kimbertal) are a business and they DO want to sell puppies... so I would imagine they would be very friendly with potential consumers.

It's unfortunate that you feel like you got shunned by show breeders. Chances are reputable show breeders have long waiting lists (for their once or twice a year litters) which eliminates the need to do the same schmoozing/puppy pitching. They can and do cherry pick where their puppies will go. If a novice bugs them for information at a show when they are busy, it might appear that they are unfriendly or unwilling to chat. Unfortunately, this comes across as "attitude" and scares off alot of people.

People who don't want to deal with waiting lists, being screened and "attitudes" will naturally go elsewhere.

Soccormom, I am glad that kimbertal kept their word with you. So they should.
But no matter how many good or bad stories I hear about kimbertal, one thing remains the same. THEY MASS PRODUCE PUPPIES! Surely we must all realize that in this day and age that is not acceptable for any reason.

Incredibledobe, Thanks so much for explaining results from European shows. I have always wondered what it all meant.
