You still haven't answered any of my questions. What are you afraid of? Quote:

| What I mean by whippets To me, the red is a Dobe that was bred to work, protect, and intimidate. Just ask yourself who would you rather be walking by your side in the battlefields of WWII? The dog bred to be handsome, or the dog bred to work. I am not knocking either, in fact I have what has become the modern day American Dobe.
Thanks to those for clarifying the term "puppy mill" for me. I guess I am like most who think that all the conditions in these places are utterly deplorable.

And its the malinois that is smaller then the dobe or the GSD, that is becoming the most popular to serve and protect next to cops all around the world.
And what does the red color have to do with it?
(please understand the above statements come with no rude or sarcastic tones. I mean them honestly to your quote.)

| As to the two Dobes you have pictured. I'll bet that when the red Male is tuckered out and laying in the shade that red bitch will still be working on the battlefield or anywhere else. Because the Male is too heavy and bulky to be able to stay sound and withstand a rigorous treck into battle or just a hike in the bush. While the red bitch is built correctly and will have the agility and stamina to LAST and stay sound. |

I still saw her put more than one decoy on the ground. She was fast and she was agile-two qualities that are easily lost when a dog has too much bulk.

| I don't know any man alive who can outrun a dog like that with even a football field long headstart.
I said red because that is how I distinguished them.
Bleh 60 again, who would you want in your corner when the stuff hits fan, a 60lbs. Malinois, or a 95lbs + Doberman. |

It's not really a question of a person being able to outrun a dog..the big question is whether the person is able to outmaneuver the dog at close range. This is where speed and agility come into play, and where a smaller dog has the advantage.

| It wouldnt matter what the weight of the doberman is if your asking 90 or 60, I like dobes over mals. I brought up the malinois because it shows the point that bigger isnt always better.
I'd take the 60lb doberman he had the brains and ability to do the work. I'd take the 90lb doberman if he had the brains and ability to do the work. I wouldn't take a dog who is healthy or out of shape.
BUT, in all honesty, I'd take a gun, not a dog.
