Hey there in NY. I was born in NY, but haven't lived there in... well a lot of years. I miss NY! I recall back in the day growing up on LI, we went out to Damasyn Kennels, Peggy Adamson. This was back in the 1960s and I was just a wee sprout but I remember being in awe of the whole experience. I wish you much luck finding your special dobe from whomever you get the puppy. You're very wise to check and recheck breeders and kudos to you for doing so!

I am living in the wild west now of Montana and there are only a couple of good breeders in this area. Most of them are breeding junk and/or working with breeders of [gasp] white dobes. Stay the heck away from those. Sad to say.

I feed Innova Senior to my 11 1/2 year old and Innova Adult to the 21-month-old. It's a great feed, both kibble and canned, but expensive. My other choice would be the Canidae. That's an excellent feed and ... a little more affordable.

Monthly costs! Acck... well, I admit that my dogs get more toys and treats than I do! Haha... but they're worth it.

Have fun and be sure to send pics of your new pup whenever you get him/her. In the meantime, scouting vets, trainers, etc. in your area is a good way to pass the time while you're waiting for the puppy.

I totally agree and am a little jealous( 2 MONTHS!! Talk about Good timing!), I waited over 2 years for the dog I wanted but it was WELL worth the wait!

Kevint does it have to be a puppy? There are so many worthy and deserving high drive dobermans that need a forever home.

sounds like me, lol. I waited my entire life to have a dog but first it was my mum (hates animals), then when I was in college I was travelling too much, and after graduating I was working long hours and all very impossible. finally quit my job and here I am!

two months is NOTHING!! I waited four months before my dobe arrived. meanwhile, you can go trawl through this forum, get ready for your dog, and have some good nights' sleep before it arrives
