On another note, Tori is a good Dobe person and I think everyone here will say the same. I just went to her site, and can hardly believe that Jingo is gone - I know she has to be devistated. I met him a few years ago at my clubs WAE - what a great dog. RIP Jingo

| | peace out dt | Yes, next time I will NOT be shy, promise! I did see your doggies from a distance and they are beauttttiful.
As for Jingo...it is very sad. I hope she is coping okay. Can't even imagine what that feels like. The last dog I knew that died was when I was 4 so I didn't really grip the idea of life/death. Now I would. I'd be a wreck. My girl is my dog-ter and my life.

| I was at Ludwig's Corner and at the Lebanon show. Didn't realize some of you were there. I've been really busy finishing up the end of the semester, grading, etc., so I haven't been posting as much and haven't been in the chat room in awhile.

-JB. | And that was a small entry Wait till you hit a specialty weekend - the previous weekend had much larger entries - Penn Jersey, Bucks, Trenton always pull majors.
The weekend of June 14th will most likely be majors at Bryn Mawr - also at Ludwigs corners.

Originally Posted by Quita Oh my gosh.... I was reading her blog. Jingo died??? My heart goes out to Tori.... | Thanks everyone for your kind words. Jingo’s death has completely caught us off guard and we are having a very difficult time dealing with it as a family. Last week we had noticed that Jingo was getting weak and we took him from vet to vet until we found out what was wrong. It turned out he had been infected with multiple strains of Leptospirosis. While he had been vaccinated, it apparently didn’t cover him. Once we determined what was wrong we got him on the correct antibiotic and he bounced back wonderfully. He perked up, was his old self, and I thought we were over his health scare. On Friday we had to make a trip to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, because I had recently received some very concerning news about my son’s kidneys. We left Jingo at home as we would normally do, but unfortunately it appears he drank over a gallon of water shortly after we left and bloated. We didn’t get back until the evening and he was going into shock by time we got home. We rushed him to the ER vet and we did a series of tests, x-ray’s, ultrasound and was determined his prognosis was grim. At that point we were forced with the decision to have him PTS. It was one of the most difficult decisions I ever had to face, because I felt like I was giving up on my best friend. But I try to remind myself that it was allowing Jingo a dignified death and I could tell by the look in his eyes he was ready to go. I think the only reason he hung on as long is he did was to allow us an opportunity to say goodbye.
Coming home to Jingo bloated after dealing with some scary news about my son; has left us all in emotional shambles. I still can’t even mention Jingo’s name without bursting into tears. He was always been there for me, faithfully at my side during all of life’s challenges; and with him dying the night I needed him the most was unbearable. Waking up the morning after all of this I thought, wow what a horrible dream…. and then being forced to face reality that it wasn’t a dream.
I spent the weekend putting together all of his UDC ads, professional photos, and my photos of him to hang on our wall along with his collar. I feel like he is a once in a life time dog and feel blessed that I had 7 great years with him…

| I have the biggest tears welling up in my eyes as I read your story. I am so, so sorry to hear of Jingo's passing. I can't even begin to imagine what you and your family are going through. I wish I could offer more words, but this is something that words cannot express enough heartfelt condolences.
Blessings to you and your son as well - I hope he is okay.
RIP Jingo. |

| I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy to lose a dog, but is unbearable to lose one that you have a special connection with. I recently had to put my 13 year old Pit Bull "Spanky" to sleep. It has been over a month now and every morning I still wake up expecting he's on his bed beside me. I then come to reality that he is gone. I hope your son is well and also hope that your other dogs help lessen the loss of your beloved pup. |
