How many times...

Is there a safe number of times that one can breed a male doberman (or any breed, really)? I know that for a female, there definitely IS, but I have never heard one way or another about a male. Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

I'm not sure if there is... I know while reading the story or Baron Nike Renewal, he was mated around 243 times!! Wow, but he was an amazing dog!

I dont think so. I have heard of another popular euro line male being used up to the hundreds(cant remember the name, disclaimer*not that am lines arnt used a lot too).

My only problem with any good dog of any breed being used so much as a popular stud is the reducing of the gene pool. But thats the only negative that I really know of about it.

Tell me about him... not much shows up on DQ.... how long did he live?

Robin, doberman review always comes up on the main page in links.

but u can look him up under males. He was 12 i believe. The only other things that I can think of was he won many shows, had a SCH 1 and his mothers hip scores were unknown.

Baron Nike was 12 years old. And like bleh60 said. He won many shows and fathered many champions. Hes in a lot of Euro peds. He sired Fedor del Nasi, who is an IDC winner and a beautiful repersentation on his father.

Baron Nike died just before christmas. He is lestats grandfather on his sires side.
