| | Big Pup | Regarding Hundmeister, before I got my dog Ryder I was considering getting one from there but later decided not to mainly on the basis that they neuter/spay their pups before they go out to the new owner...The lady Susan seemed really nice when I was emailing her back and forth, but after talking to a bunch of other people and breeders I found out doing the early neuter is not the smartest thing to do, and if their dogs are sent out that way it seemed really bizzare to me...maybe they offer a choice, but I didnt get that vibe. Email them and talk to them. |

| There are several good doberman breeders in western canada as well. Check out the B.C. Doberman club and also, don't limit yourself on location, most good breeders will ship pups.

Please let me know of some breeders in Alberta that are good, it would be cool to check them out. Thanks. |

Also, I want to make sure that I get a healthy doberman that will live long. Scared that rescuing will be a problem doberman with health problems such as hips and heart. I would definitely look into a rescue if someone can help change that mind set and give me some links to check out. |

| Contact Kim Boucher and/or Deb Romans in Alberta regarding rescue dogs. They are both breeders as well. You were already given Kim's website above. |

| Scuba Bob, please work on changing your mind set about rescues. I did. I read a story about a rescued dobie in a magazine once, this statement changed my mind.
"If you have room in your heart and home for a Best in Show Quality Dog, then you have room for his misbegotten brother." And might I add, everything in between.
If you would like to check into some more Dobes available at shelters and rescues near you, let me know.

| | Big Pup | K, I'll look into some rescue dobermans. But I was looking it up on the net and found lots in the USA but its depressing reading about what happens to some of the dogs. This one was a puppy and was beaten!. Some have broken legs and left out on the streets many starved!, seriously why get a dog if you can take care of it or afford the vet bills or food. Seen two that I liked but both were males and I have a male already and want a female. bBut I'll keep looking, may still go the breeder way not sure now haha. |
