| 1. I think Orson knows most of the routines around here. He knows when the kids get home from school that I will be going into the kitchen making dinner soon, he goes into the kitchen and waits on the rug until I join him. He also knows when I set the table that it is time for Daddy so he waits by the front window to watch.
2. I can't say if he knows the difference between work/non work day, but he understands if the kids didn't leave then mommy don't leave either........and he always acts the same either way.
3. Orson knows that we don't normally get phone calls after 9:30 pm. On the occasion that we do, he barks about the phone ringing (which he normally does not do) He also knows that my husband goes to bed between 9-9:30 and if he doesn't then Orson tries to 'politely' remind him by whining that he would like to go to bed now. (he tries with me too, but usually has to settle for DH)
4. Orson does notice anything "new" around the yard. Whether it is friends of the kids that left a skateboard on the porch, or something blown in the yard by accident...........and he must get a full sniff search done before anything else can happen. Back at Halloween, I decorated the front porch while he was in the back yard with hubby. Me and the kids put a "dummie" in the chair, wearing some of my hubby's clothes................when Orson came to the front yard (at 6 months of age) He went absolutely crazy!! Hair out, kicking up grass, snarling.................I had to show him it was a fake before he would calm down!! |
