A well socialized dog is one who isn't stressed or distracted by the PRESENCE of people, other animals, etc. That doesn't mean they have to go looking for interactions.

I've had some dobermans who were social butterflies who never met a person they didn't like, others who were more aloof-they could take or leave interacting with strangers. Different dogs, different personalities..it's all good.
