| Our dog Greta is 18 weeks old, she was very shy, we have had her since almost 12 weeks. We enrolled her in puppy kindergarten at Pet Smart and it has done WONDERS for her socialization. We also make several trips a week, besides our Saturday class to Pet Smart, Petco or Pet Supermarket, just to get out of the house. I don't always buy something, or just a couple of cans of cat food, occasionally I buy her a toy or some treats, but it is great for her to get out and see other dogs and people. It has helped so much. She is not doing so great on our walks, her hair goes up and she barks when we see a dog on our walks, so we are working on this. I don't know why she is Ok at Pet Smart and not outside, but I don't have the answer to that one, but we will keep trying. Good luck with your pup, I really think it will do wonders for her to visit Pet Smart, or even better, get your dog in a puppy class. |
