If you want a working/hunting breed you HAVE to be committed to exercising the dog morning and night. The brighter the breed, the more easily bored they become, and when bored, your couch may become the next stuffie it wants to rip apart. Keep in mind that a rescue group may prefer that you have a fenced-in area for your dog to exercise in.

My advice would be to rescue a smaller breed of dog and when you have more space, then get your dream Dobe.
