| My older brother had a Weim and a rescued Greyhound (who was euthanized last year with a brain tumor). They both were great dogs, and the Weim was well mannered.
That being said, Zoe (the weim) did manage to push my 6ft 5, 350lb brother down the basement stairs as a teenager.
I adored Malley, the greyhound. He got her a week off the track, and I dogsat her a week later. What a complete sweetheart! She was scared of stairs at first, having never seen them before. She was also terrified of my mom's cat. The cat put her in a corner of the kitchen and then proceeded to eat her food. She was in race weight at the time, and I was terrified of walking her, since the one time I did I had two comments about needing to feed that poor poor dog.
I've known lots of nutty Weims too, but I think they were most likely poorly bred and under exercised. If you can commit to keeping their bodies exercised I think a Weim could do well in an apartment.
Personally I would choose a greyhound, but I love the breed. If I weren't in love with Dobes I would totally have a greyhound.
