I haven't noticed a reduction in entries in my breed since the gas became exponentially more expensive. Majors still hit quite frequently and shows that didn't have much of an entry in prior years have had pretty good entry numbers this year.
I really only go to shows within a 2.5 hr distance from where I live and have noticed that this is pretty much the case with the other entries, save handlers. For the most part, its the usual show crowd.
What I have noticed in various breeds is that people who would normally come and show 1-2 dogs are now showing 3-4 to make it worth while. Interesting how that works!
