Then when I was trying to pull the trigger, I thought maybe there was nothing in it. By the time I pulled it hard enough for it to go off, I have no idea if I was still aimed at the tree or not. I'm also deaf now with ringing in my ears. So I see what you guys mean about the SA. Do they have anything quieter? lol..

Don't worry everyone, I plan on buying new and having lessons and having it registered to me..
what is SA? sounds like it was a revolver? and it sounds like you had a hard time pulling the hammer back and it had a firm trigger...

welcome to revolvers maybe not for you.

"Do they have anything quieter?" NO guns are loud!!
Shame Shame Shame - for not shooting with hearing and eye protection!! tsk tsk tsk... bad!

and then you have to learn how to shoot - breathing, squeezing the trigger, not jerking it, etc... you have to be able to hold your line on the target regardless if revolver, semiauto or shotgun.
