A Tempe Police K9 died on Monday evening, 7/1, from injuries received after falling 40 feet in a construction site during a search for copper scavenger thieves. The dog's name was Baloo (a GSD) and he was five years old.
Tempe is a suburb of Phoenix.
The newspaper article I read that reported this tragedy made no mention that the bad guys were caught. (Arizona Republic)

It is so very sad to lose these working dogs. They contribute so very much to the communities in which they serve as well as being ambassadors of the capabilities of working dogs.
