So just curious...Jager had to go cold turkey while changing his food. I switched him to Pro Plan Puppy for large breeds... I have been mixing in rice/hamburger/pumpkin and he was doing great. As I have begun to decrease the rice mixture and increase the new dog food his stools have gone again from solid to well watery....is this common? He has lost A LOT of weight and I know I have posted about this what three times now? Can you say, feeling helpless to help my puppy????
I do go to the vet again tomorrow afternoon (third visit) but they are really pushing a prescription food and well since we do want to go RAW (waiting for the hubby to come home from overseas duty...yeah!!!) that would mean switching his food four times in a six month period.
Just curious, I know some of you were able to mix the old food with the new....but thought maybe some of you could offer experiences.
PS His bowel movements have really stunk!! Common with this food? Should be fun trying to scoop up a sample for tomorrow's visit....
Oh and they have ruled out Parvo, worms, and allergies.... |
