| I would not start a dog w/ a UTI on an incontinence medication. It is not uncommon for UTI's to cause leaking. I would definitely wait until it is confirmed (via culture) that the infection is gone prior to determining if she needs incontinence meds. It is also important to treat long enough w/ the antiobiotics (typically 2-4 wks, depending on type of antibiotic and extent of infection).
Did they sent out a culture & sensitivity on the urine? It may be that the bacteria she has is not susceptible to the antibiotic she is on.
Most dogs will improve w/ in a few days of being on the appropriate antibiotic. |
