Thanks musicdobe. As you and others have said, the collar idea seems a good one. We didn't go on a walk today because it was raining pretty much all day. But I still had to take him outside and use the leash, so I noticed that he was behaving differently with the flat collar that he wears around the house than with the choke collar. He still pulls with the flat one, going to the end of the leash.
So this is making me think, like I was told by many, that Zack WOULD be able to differenciate between obedience and ring. I see light at the end of the tunnel !
