I leave mine at a kennel run by a Great Dane breeder who lives in a house about 50' from the kennel itself. My two just spent 10 days there. I pack all their food myself with vities in baggies, tote all their bedding etc for them. They stay in side by side indoor/outdoor runs and the runs open to a big grassy play yard. They got to go out and romp together every day on the grass.

My male always loses weight...he is a rescue boy and I think he stresses more. Think of all the activity, barking, etc they endure when they'd be resting at home normally. Cheers had normal weight...but she is an easier keeper.

They both were WILD to see me, drug me to the car (what happened to obedience?) and just were spinning with glee when we stopped at the barn for a good run. Then they slept all afternoon. I know they are tired when they come home from the kennel.

When I drop them off I feel SO guilty...Rex gives this low, long howling noise as I go back to the car. He NEVER howls, poor baby!
