| detroit is far away....around here animal control=one thing and one thing only and thats instant death. dogs are kept 4 days and gased with engine exhaust. our shealter has a 90% kill rate. I work with a local rescue referbished pets of southwest michigan. we take shelter dogs and place them in the local prison. the inmates train the dogs for 3 mo.....then they go up for adoption. it has worked really well. but we can only place 13 dogs every 3 mo.
