YAYAYAY!!! I'm so proud of my boy! He was sooo good and focused, and the evaluator was so impressed!
We got there early and sniffed around a bit. Two other ladies came in with their dogs - little shih tzu dogs. The only part of the test I was nervous about was the "Reaction to another dog", and when I saw these two little ones come through the door, I got even more nervous. Red thinks little dogs are to be play-squashed like his cat friends at home. He's much better behaved around bigger dogs.
We whiz right through the first parts of the test with flying colors. The petting, grooming, heeling, commands, etc. Then the part with the other dog comes. For the test, you have to walk toward each other, stop, put the dog in a sit, shake hands with the other person, talk a little, then continue on your way. So we walk toward each other with our dogs in heel position, stop, Red sits nicely, we shake hands, then out of nowhere, her little dog lunged and tried to attack Red! Red stood up out of his sit, but just looked at the little dog in polite interest as if to say, "What do you think you're doing? We're in the middle of a test here!" Then we continued on our way. The evaluator said that even if Red would've barked or something, he wouldn't have marked us off because the little dog attacked him first. haha score! Red 1, Little Dog 0

Then the supervised separation, which Red was fine for, and we were done!
The evaluator said you are allowed to miss one step of the test and have a retry at the end if needed, but Red passed everything the first time through

The evaluator was so impressed with how well he did with me doing all his training myself. I'm so proud
Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes in my other thread!! I appreciate all your encouragement and help! I could not have done this if it wasn't for all you wonderful people at DT - and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
Red enjoying his reward
