I'm really sorry to hear about this. Before you mentioned the diagnosis I was going to say that the last time Lexx seemed lame he also refused to eat and drank very little. However, he has been xrayed and doesn't have hip problems, so it was probably something different.

I'm so sorry to hear about this diagnosis for Champ! I hope that with medications and possible surgery his prognosis is managed well and he remains a happy boy!

Also, with respect to what Scoob mentioned about breeding, yes hip ratings of the parents is important, but unfortunately, it is still possible for a pup to get HD even if the parents tested well. Notably, it is more rare, but still possible.
