A pretty smart trainer told me something last weekend, that makes pretty good sense as someone was "dogging" me because they could not hear my commands during our BH Trial - heh...obviously Zane had no trouble hearing them. He said if you constantly use a loud or stern voice with your dogs when giving commands, the day your trialing the only thing you have left is giving an extra command or using body language. Whereas if you give your commands in a normal voice - and used a stern voice (not necessarily louder per say, but with an inflection that the dogs knows by just the sound of it that you mean business) for exercises that might be a little iffy ie., I used a sterner louder command when giving him the down for the long down, you at least have something in your bag of tricks that won't cost either of you points.
