yes, turn off your airbags. A couple of years ago I responded to a call where a Bouvier Des Flandres was in the front seat and the impact of an airbag killed the dog. The dog was a very large male~100 Lbs. I wouldn't risk putting a dog near an airbag. Just my opinion.
