Any sock eaters who passed the sock ok

What is the transit time for a sock to pass through? He ate one before and it came out, I had no idea he ate it. I am hoping this one will do the same (he ate it last night). I have been giving him 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil every couple of hours. Vet said to come in for laxatives. He is not vomiting, had 2-3 bm's, is exercising normally and eating and drinking ok. I am beginning to think that he never ate the sock to beging with. DH says I am overreacting. I think I am going to take him for an x-ray anyway just to be sure (and not tell DH). I know it can be serious if left untreated. Epsom Salts should work to evacuate the bowels but I don't know how to give it to him or if I should do any of that at this point other than monitor him closely.
And yes, EVERYTHING is out of reach now, not just the usual paper towels, toilet tissue, hamper lid on, toilet lid on, no remotes, cell phones or bluetooth.
