As long as the dog is not biting bees and getting stung in the mouth or throat the sting does not usually cause seriuos problems. When it happens if you can remove the stinger it will help control the amout of 'venom' the little beggars pump in. there is a homeopathic remedy that is handy to keep at home called Apis mellificia if symptoms are swelling and if ice relieves irritation.
I once had a Labrador run into a wasp nest in our grape arbour, she came in the house covered in about 100 stings, we dosed her with Apis and within 20 minutes the swellings were gone.
