FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Police say burglars shot and killed a family dog while breaking into a Frankfort house and stealing a computer.
Frankfort police say homeowner Sandra Ferrell returned home for lunch Monday afternoon to find her house had been broken into and her beloved dog, Chloe, a German shepherd mixed breed, had been shot to death in the kitchen.
Police say the only item missing from the house was an older-model Dell computer.
Frankfort County Animal Control officers say the incident marked the first time they have responded to a dog being killed during a burglary. |
