Charlie is around 10.5, possibly as much as 11.5 (he's a rescue so we don't know his exact age). He's in great general health - the vet recently told me that she'd never have guessed his age if it hadn't been written in his records.
I think he probably comes from a good Dobe line, bred with health in mind, which gives him a good foundation. He's always had a lot of exercise - a good 3 hours of off-leash walks every day until about a year ago when I started to reduce it to 1.5 hours in the morning and 30 minutes or so late afternoon/early evening. He's an old boy and gets a bit more tired these days.
Diet: his main food is Nature's Menu. This is wet food, comes in a sachet, and is 60% meat, mixed with rice and vegetables, no additives of any sort. He has kibble mixed in and most days a bit of oily fish (tuna, sardines, or salmon) on top of it. He also gets any appropriate leftovers from our meals and he gets scrambled eggs as a treat on Saturdays
Seems to thrive on it.
