And--he was in your life for a reason. You two met for a reason.
The love and consideration you gave to him counts. It does not take away anything from his life, rather, it adds to it.
I know it was difficult, but sounds like the right decision for all was made.

When you find a new dog who fits in your family, and you are watching them romp and smile, think fondly of Cirrus and just wish him well, but don't bog down in guilt and regret.
