I would not be so concerned about the size. It is far more important what is inside the dog than what its dimensions are. The old adage is true- it is not the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog.

My sch3/IPO3 bitch is 63 Lbs. In terms of a working dog I would prefer a very compact, medium sized dog. At 26" at that age, I would not want it to be much more than that. The nastiest dog at our Sch club is a little GSD bitch that Lance Collins brought back from Germany last year. She has speed, power and drive up the Kazoo and she can't be more than 24" tall and 55-60Lbs.

You still have not told us the pedigree. That would be interesting for us.
