My undestanding is that there is no full-proof allergy test for dogs. (this is per a dog dermatologist)
Food reccomendation was a single source protein (like lamb or venison--carb could be potato)something they have not had yet for 8 weeks--no treats .) It can take that long to show results. If you want to give treats give carrots, green beans, apples--they won`t hurt.
Shampoo that has benzoyl peroxide in it. (use once a week).
You still may need an antibiotic to get through this break out.
Can you see a vet dermatologist and possibly set up a payment plan?
Chicken is usually never reccomended for this 8 week period. There is kibble on the market that can be used for dogs with allergies. The trick is finding what will work. You have to stick with it for 8 weeks with nothing else added.
Good luck.
