I use this harness with Risa. She still pulls, but she doesn't pull as hard with the harness as she does with a buckle collar. With the harness, I have control over the entire front part of her body. I threw my back out the oher day and have been using the harness to take her out. I started physical therapy just this morning, and the harness really saves my back. I am training Risa to not pull with the buckle collar, but it's nice to have a backup when you just need to get from point A to point B and don't have time to continually stop and teach 'NO PULLING!'. When Risa pulls with the buckle collar, I stop (not rewarding the pull) and wait for her to stop pulling. I wait for her attention, and then we walk forward once I have her attention. When I use this method and when she's really excited, we don't cover much ground! I spend a lot of time patiently waiting for her to re-focus on me. When using the harness, I don't have to make every single session a training session.
