| It is day 5 . We just came back from picking up Kona's ashes. The people at Canada West did a beautiful thing for us during aftercare...they took a paw print impression and there's even a few little Doberhairs lodged in the clay. I'm so touched because I was so mad at myself for never thinking to take an impression and they were able to give me this final gift without even knowing my secret wish. Kona's ashes came in a beautiful urn too, we didn't even have to ask. These are people who care deeply about what they do and about the fur babies who have been entrusted to them. I'm grateful for their kindness. On another note, everyone here at the Rainbow Bridge forum has been instrumental in keeping me sane in these last few days even if you didn't know it. There were a few times when I wanted to go to the Bridge as well but it's not my time. Everyone here has suffered the loss and survived, I will too. Kona will be there when it is my time. Thank you everyone. |
