zeus and me-

Rather than the old "tie up your dog" section,
they have you give your dog to someone now to hold for 3 minutes, and you go out of sight, instead of the old tie out method. My old red boy passed his CGC (this was years ago)and he hated to be tied even for a minute. I used a metal wrapped tie out cable at home to practice this....at the CGC, we returned after the 3 minutes and he was JUST starting to gnaw in the rope holding him in place there! He passed, whew.

The old test had you bring a brush with you when they brushed your dog; the one I just did with Rexy had the judge brush your dog (and every other dog) with a generic brush! Not too
hygenic!!

Anyway, I do think the CGC is generally easy for a dog with obedience training, but there are parts that some Dobes may not like. Meeting stranger with strange dog (if dog aggressive) and being left with a stranger for 3 minutes. Rexy just leaned into his "holder" for 3 minutes of petting!!
