Can dogs get poison ivy?

I'm not sure if this has already been asked - I searched but didn't find anything.

I know that people can get poison ivy from their dog due to the sap of the plant adhering to the dog's fur and you pick it up when you pet the dog. But I wasn't sure if it's common for dog's to actually get the rash from it?

I ask because Red and I go for walks through the woods and down trails and sometimes he goes off the beaten path and I'm worried he'll get into a patch of it or something...
