my biggest issue is that gas has been ridiculous here for awhile now...but nobody is doing anything about it. Then what do I hear on the news last night? That the state of NY is thinking about giving rebate cheques out to "cushion" the blow of the gas prices...meanwhile they are reporting in front of a sign that states that gas is 3.56 a gallon. I would KILL for my gas to be back down to 85c a litre.
honestly, until the american economy goes back up, people are going to keep buying commodities and gas prices are going to inflate as oil prices are driven up and up and up...I don't think that not buying from a certain station is going to help much in the big picture. |
I am probably totally misinformed, so will you help me out please? I always thought that in Canada the gas price is high because of the taxes on the gas. (Our gas tax here is like 12 cents a gallon). Is it the tax or the actual gas price? If it is the tax, IMO it balances out because we don't have the insurance/work leave benefits from the government as Canadians do.
