When I have occasionally fed raw to my dogs I put down a towel and make them stay on it because they tend to make a big mess. Do they just eat it down right over the bowl after they master the raw eating skills (my two are pretty clumsy at it but they don't get it very often)? Thanks for the photos and info! |
actually, the only two animals in the house that will eat raw out of bowls without spilling are my two cats. they were raw fed from the time they were 8 weeks old and when they were kittens, they were my only pets so i trained them well to keep their food in the bowl or on the plate i gave them (every time they would drag it off, i would scruff them, carry them back to the bowl, and put the meat back in the bowl) - now they watch the other cats drag stuff around and look at them like "ooohhh, you gonna be in trouble man"
the big fluffy white cat in the first set of pictures eats his meals up on the counter while the other cats eat on the floor because he is slow and they will steal his food and they aren't allowed on the counters - but every time he has raw, he picks it up out of his dish and takes it down to the floor. funny, he'll eat everything else on the counter but refuses to eat raw anywhere but on the floor!
