This last Friday I picked up an awesome female Pit/hound mix from the shelter. She was horribly abused and or neglected. Her entire lower legs were skinned off on the bottom practically to the bone, all 4. I am fostering her until she can get "back on her feet", and learn some good tricks/behavior that will make sure she is a wonderful family dog, and get adopted. But most of all she just needs love and pampering right now, because god knows what she just went through. It looks to me that her wounds are definately consistent to being "dragged". She was picked up as "stray" so they dont know what happened. She is so nice and sweet, and full of life and energy. So here is my question. Today she was being rather playfull with Norman in our greenbelt and was running, playing ball, and initiating romping play with him. Well one thing led to another as they say and they started to "get it on". I immediately stopped him and have had to watch them since. She was just fixed last week and I don't know if physically she can do that yet without causing internal injury. Her incision on her belly looks great and is just about healed...

So, is it ok for them to "honeymoon", so soon after being spayed? I will get some pictures of her up soon. It was funny walking her and playing outside with her the last few days, the wraps on her legs are bright pink. They look like leg warmers or bootys from more than 10 feet. I got some strange looks to say the least, being a tall 200# man. Haha
