At the clinic I used to work at, we had 2 pet stores that were very close, so ended up seeing a fair number of pet store puppies. Most of the people had no idea that there was any difference in registries, that the puppies come from puppy brokers who in turn get them from puppy mills and bybs, that the weren't breeding quality, or that they had just paid a large sum of money for a mutt (not a "designer dog") whose parents were just thrown together with no thought as to pedigree, health, etc.
***People need to understand that if they buy puppies from pet stores or buy goods from pet stores that sell puppies (including online puppy brokers), THEY are the ones supporting the puppy mills and puppy brokers.
